Asphalt removal is one of the heaviest cleanup jobs a property owner or contractor can take on. Broken paving is dense, awkward to handle and quick to exceed the weight limits of a container that looks like it still has plenty of room. Asphalt dumpster rental in The Dalles, OR from Fancy Sanitation & Containers is planned around that weight so your debris can be hauled safely and without surprises.
01Why Asphalt Needs a Dedicated Plan
Asphalt weighs far more per cubic yard than household debris. Filling a large container to the top with paving chunks could overload the truck and the container. For that reason, heavy debris is usually placed in smaller, lower-walled containers, and in many cases the load must stay below a fill line. Our scheduler explains the weight allowance and loading limits for your rental before delivery.
02Keeping the Load Clean
Asphalt is commonly recycled when it arrives at a facility without other materials mixed in. Keep the container limited to asphalt whenever you can. Adding trash, wood or soil to the load may change how it is processed and can affect your disposal terms. If you also have concrete or dirt to remove, tell us so we can discuss whether separate containers make sense.
03Typical Asphalt Removal Projects
- Residential driveway replacement
- Parking lot patching and resurfacing prep
- Walkway and path removal
- Sections of paving removed for utility work
- Commercial lot reconfiguration
- Basketball court or patio tear-outs
04Protecting Your Property During Delivery
Heavy loads put pressure on the surface beneath the container. When the container sits on pavement you plan to keep, we can place boards under the rails to help spread the weight. Choose a firm, level spot with clear access for the roll-off truck, and keep in mind that a loaded container is heavy to lift back onto the truck.
05Loading Heavy Debris Safely
Spread asphalt evenly across the floor of the container instead of piling it in one corner. Uneven loads are harder to lift and transport. Use equipment such as skid steers where appropriate, and keep workers clear of the container while material is being dumped in. Wear proper gloves and footwear when handling broken paving by hand.
06Timing Your Rental With the Paving Schedule
Paving projects often run on tight windows between removal and new installation. Let us know your crew schedule, and we will plan delivery before tear-out starts and pickup soon after, so the site is clear for grading and paving.
